25th Running of the Annual ADVICE 5K Turkey Trot

Thanksgiving Morning, Thursday November 25th - 9 AM START

Turkey Trotters of all ages and abilities  -- Champions for Community -- will celebrate the 25th Running of the Annual ADVICE 5K Turkey Trot in 2021!  This beloved community event is a NON-SANCTIONED 5K run/walk held annually on Thanksgiving Morning in Duck, NC.  All participants should be physically able to finish and be off the course within 60 minutes.

The ADVICE 5K is all about FUN & PHILANTHROPY --  for our trotters, our volunteers, flocks of friends and families, and our entire community too -- and in 2021 we'll be creating a 25th anniversary celebration you won't want to miss!  Participants can look forward to a locally designed and screen printed long sleeve event tee, specialized goody bag, and commemorative finishers gifts in addition to a post-race event.

As is tradition, our INFAMOUS PUMPKIN "TROPHY PIES" made by baker-extraordinaire Chris Carroll of Sweater Box Confections will be awarded to our first female & male runners (both adult & youth U10) along with our first walker. There are no other competitive awards or age group recognitions for our event. We're "old school" -- NOT professionally timed or chipped, with finish times only monitored until our "Pie Winners" cross the Finish Line!

Please see our FAQs for all the details about our in-person event -- the details of which also appear on our registration page at RunSignUp.  While registrations for the 25th Running of the Annual ADVICE 5K Turkey Trot are non-refundable, in 2021 participants will be able to transfer their registration to the VIRTUAL OPTION.

Due to the dynamic nature of the COVID-19 pandemic, 2021 registration fees, race capacity and event information on this site are subject to change. Our event will adhere to all public health guidelines and regulations for large outdoor gatherings in North Carolina (Dare County); such decisions will be driven by guidelines from local and state authorities, the CDC, and best practices as established by the RRCA.

We encourage all of our participants, sponsors, and volunteers to check this website and email from us regularly and to pay close attention to social media communications to ensure that they are aware of future announcements. In order to give all running and racing events the best chance of being held in-person, we urge everyone to maintain good hand-hygiene, social distancing, the use of face coverings when appropriate, and to get vaccinated when it becomes available to you.
