A FAN-tastic 25 years!
Thanks to our collective feather power, the Annual ADVICE 5K Turkey Trot earned a reputation as true Champions for Community! Our “fun little footrace” accomplished a remarkable amount of good for Outer Banks non-profits and the people they serve.
But after 2 and a half decades, our event is now retired.
Even in retirement, we remain committed to local philanthropy by continuing to help grow our charitable endowment, the Annual ADVICE 5K Turkey Trot Fund managed by the Outer Banks Community Foundation! It was established to make a long-lasting impact on health and wellness…and we invite you to champion its fundraising and future endeavors.
Years of participation and continued generosity means that our endowment will fund vital projects now and for years and years to come.
Over the years, the ADVICE 5K donated thousands of dollars in event proceeds to non-profits across the Outer Banks. In 2013, Advice 5¢, a bed & breakfast owned by Nancy Caviness and Donna Black established the Annual ADVICE 5K Turkey Trot Fund -- a charitable endowment managed by the Outer Banks Community Foundation. This decision was a tribute to the beloved community event and assured a lasting impact on improving health and wellness.
While the event was the cornerstone fundraiser that grew the endowment, individuals, businesses, and families can contribute via direct donation. Year after year, Turkey Trotters proved how a fun little footrace could do so much good for so many! With its focus on non-profit grant making, this permanent charitable endowment will help improve health and wellbeing for those living and working on the Outer Banks -- now, and for years and years to come.Donate
