Over the years, the ADVICE 5K donated thousands of dollars in event proceeds to non-profits across the Outer Banks. In 2013, Advice 5¢, a bed & breakfast owned by Nancy Caviness and Donna Black established the Annual ADVICE 5K Turkey Trot Fund -- a charitable endowment managed by the Outer Banks Community Foundation. This decision was a tribute to the beloved community event and assured a lasting impact on improving health and wellness.

While the event was the cornerstone fundraiser that grew the endowment, individuals, businesses, and families can contribute via direct donation. Year after year, Turkey Trotters proved how a fun little footrace could do so much good for so many! With its focus on non-profit grant making, this permanent charitable endowment will help improve health and wellbeing for those living and working on the Outer Banks -- now, and for years and years to come.
